5. Clean up your yard. This can be as simple as pulling the weeds, watering your plants, and mowing the lawn, or it can mean hiring someone to help reseed your lawn or bring in some new landscaping features. First impressions are everything, and buyers will notice if they pull up and see dirt and dead plants instead of a verdant vision of green. Potential buyers will look at the outside of your house and form an impression of what they'll see inside.

6. Finally, consider power washing your siding and/or driveway, and give your windows a good scrubbing on both sides! They'll look polished and pristine once they're clean, which can make all the difference when it comes to first impressions.
